Colombianamente

Will showcase the arts and culture from Colombia to London, with the objective of bringing and fusing the different Colombian communities living in the city, explore our contemporary identity and introduce a positive outlook of Colombia to the world. Allowing Londoners to explore the richness and variety of our culture and play a part towards finishing with the stereo-typical representation of Colombia.

As a friendly, free festival in the heart of our capital city, along the beautiful South bank of the River Thames, the Coin Street Festival plays a vital role in introducing new audiences to the arts; visitors can celebrate London's diversity and cultural contributions from around the world. Any afternoon during the summer approximately 20,000 people walk past the festival area, this year the vibrant colours of Colombia's rich culture will capture the South bank of London.

On the 20th of July to mark the celebration of our Independence in 1810, we want to demonstrate the beauty and magic of Colombian culture. Musicians, actors, circus performers, dancers, marching bands, visual artist, photographers, children, market stalls will bring a unique and amazing display of colour, smells and sounds to the South Bank of the River Thames.

In the main stage, we have the best and the most diverse of our extensive music repertoire, with the best of the Local talent. Such as; Roberto Pla and his 18 piece band playing Colombian salsa hits of all times, Palenke with their infectious sounds, Colores de Mi Tierra a band made up by the daughters and grand children of our biggest folkloric singer export; Toto La Momposina, this will be a premiere for London Audiences.

Local Colombian talent Angelica Lopez y su Papayera Band, Harp Maestro Diego Laverde, Los Chicos del Vallenato playing their accordions and guacharacas, reggaetton revelation of 2007 MC Magico and the amazing performance of the current world salsa champions, all the way from Cali Colombia John Vásquez and Judy Aguilar
